Hi, Iām chuck!
As an avid outdoorsman, Chuck Nash relocated to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado to be closer to the activities he loves most: fly fishing, skiing, hiking, biking, and golfing. After several years of living in Eagle, CO, Chuck and his wife Gail relocated to Gypsum, a smaller community where light pollution barely made a dent in the night sky. One night, Chuck stepped out into his backyard and saw the Milky Way in all its glory. He was amazed.
Years later, Chuck and Gail noticed a long trail of cars and discovered they were waiting to view an eclipse at a community gathering. Chuck was able to borrow some disposable safety glasses but was immediately captivated by an amateur astronomer who had brought his own telescope. That moment sparked something in him.
At 78 years old, Chuck never thought he would be involved in backyard astronomy. What started with paper eclipse glasses evolved into owning two smart telescopes that allow him to see things he never dreamed of. The Unistellar Equinox 2 was his first telescope, followed by the Celestron Origin Telescope, his favorite. The first time Chuck was able to render an image from his own telescope, he was hooked.
In the last two years, Chuck has gone from knowing almost nothing about astronomy to teaching classes at schools and the recreation center. He is obsessed with capturing images of the night sky and its incredible structures. These telescopes have changed his life and allowed him to take amazing images of the cosmos. Chuck never imagined in his wildest dreams that he would be starting a new hobby, certainly not one as technical as astrophotography. He's having a blast and would love to welcome everyone to this amazing adventure.
